Target Employee Shoved During Valley Stream Robbery: Ncpd

A shoplifting incident turned violent when two men allegedly threatened and shoved a store employee while fleeing a Target in Valley Stream, Nassau County police announced on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Jahkeli Mason, 19, of Springfield Gardens, and Darren Gordon, 36, of St. Albans, entered the Target at 500 W. Sunrise Highway on Friday, Feb. 27, at 3:26 p.m., selected assorted merchandise, placed the items in a shopping cart, and passed all points of purchase without paying, according to detectives.

Loss Prevention officers confronted the pair, who then threatened and shoved an employee before fleeing the scene, police said.

A short time later, officers located the suspects and took them into custody following a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

Mason and Gordon are each charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, according to police.

They were scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday, Feb. 28, at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
