Suspect Charged In Two Fairfield Burglaries

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A suspect in a pair of Fairfield thefts was charged with burglary and larceny Wednesday. Jamar Jarrett, 24, of Bridgeport, had been in police custody since June awaiting trial in a similar incident.

Two homes in the Stratfield area reported break-ins on consecutive days in June. The Stratfield Road and Euclid Avenue houses were vacant and available for sale. Radiators with a combined estimated value of $1,120 were reported missing.

Neighbors near the two houses told police that they saw an orange pick-up truck at the scene on the day of the break-ins. A similar truck was spotted on June 26 at another vacant home on Park Avenue. Police found Jarrett and another man at the scene, according to police reports.

Both were charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools. Jarrett has been charged with burglaries in Stratford as well, according to state court records.

In the Stratfield Road and Euclid Avenue burglaries, he was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and first-degree criminal mischief, all felonies. His bond was set at $15,000, and he appeared in court Tuesday.
