Suspect Charged in BP Robbery

Stamford resident Terence Leydon, the man suspected in the attempted armed robbery of the BP Gas Station at 1510 Post Road E., was arrested Tuesday by Westport police on a warrant at Norwalk Superior Court.

On Sept. 17, police allege that Leydon, 43, attempted to rob the BP station with a tire iron but fled empty-handed. He was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal mischief and was held on a $125,000 bond. Leydon, who is also charged in the armed robbery of a Norwalk nail salon, is due in court again Oct. 21.

? California resident Ashok Sethi allegedly used his car keys for purposes other than driving Tuesday night. According to police reports, Sethi, 64, was seen scratching the side of a car with his key in the Westport Country Playhouse parking lot. Officers patrolling in the area caught him. The car he reportedly "keyed" belonged to his ex-girlfriend. Sethi was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

? After receiving a report of a car driving erratically on Wilton Road on Friday night, Westport police patrolled the area until spotting the car at 205 Wilton Road. The driver, Norwalk resident Daryl Nistico, was sitting inside the vehicle with the engine running. When police approached, they could smell alcohol on his breath. Nistico, 35, failed field sobriety tests and was charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive right. He was due in court Sept. 28
