Suspect Charged After Schenectady Stabbing

A man was stabbed in Schenectady, and police have arrested a 42-year-old suspect in connection with the attack.

Officers responded to the area of Moyston Street and Hilderbrandt Avenue around 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, after receiving a report of a stabbing, according to Schenectady Police.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen. Officers provided medical aid at the scene until crews from the Schenectady Fire Department and Mohawk Ambulance Service arrived.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Officers searched the surrounding area and located a suspect, 42-year-old Hector Perez, at a nearby home. Perez, of Schenectady, was arrested on suspicion of felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities did not speculate on a possible motive for the attack.
