Suspect Arrested After Revisiting Scene

Alvin Hamilton, 44, of New York, learned that returning to the scene of where a crime may not be such a good idea, especially if he's accused of committing the crime.

Four months ago, on June 1, an assistant store manager at The Gap at Stamford Town Center said he saw a man taking 10 pairs of men's jeans from the store, according to police. The assistant store manager said he saw the man put the items in a Macy's shopping bag and walk out of the store. Months later the man, identified as Hamilton, returned to the store. A store employee recognized him, and police were called. Hamilton was arrested Sept. 26 and charged with sixth-degree larceny and attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court today.
