Sun Now Helps Power Somers Library

SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Somers Library now sports solar panels, News 12 Westchester reports, and the new energy source will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Somers Library will now get an estimated 7 percent of its power from solar panels.

Somers officials have said the move will remove about 8,000 pounds of emissions a year, according to News 12.

The project was through the Solarize Westchester Program, and Direct Energy Solar donated the panels, News 12 reported.
