RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Head down to Main Street on Saturday and join in the festivities at the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerces Annual Summerfest.
Main Street and Bailey Avenue will become pedestrian walkways with nearly 100 vendors, games and music from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pop-up art galleries, set up in vacant Main St. storefronts, will offer wine, cheese and the work of local artists.
Local musicians and Beatles-tribute act Sergeant Lefferts Phony Hearts Club Band will perform. Brooklyn-based Roosevelt Dime, a New Orleans-style jug band, will perform a free concert in Ballard Park at 7 p.m.
You also can decorate an Adirondack chair and display along the road for $50. You can either take it home or submit it for a silent auction.
The festivities begin Friday, with music and dancing from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio behind Town Hall.
