NORWALK, Conn. Krystal Egbuchlam is off to Ireland, but she left an impression at City Hall. The Brien McMahon High School graduate spent the summer working in the Mayor's Summer Youth Program, doing clerical work for Maritza Alvarado, who writes grants for the city. "She's very good, a smart girl," Alvarado said. "She kept me on track with everything."
Egbuchlam sent out emails and helped with the administrative tasks associated with the youth program, filing paperwork, doing the payroll and handing out paychecks. She also likes to sing and dance as well as play field hockey and lacrosse.
Egbuchlam said she had learned things by working for Alvarado and was looking forward to studying at law school. "She's a good kid, very sweet," Alvarado said. "One of my favorites."
The youth program has ended for the season. "We're gearing up for next year," said Darlene Young, coordinator. "We're hoping to get some financial support."
