Sisters Michelle Letarte Ross, a former fashion exec, and Lisa Letarte Cabrinha, a former competitive windsurfer, started the beachy, breezy Letarte line in 2000. Based in Maui, this iconic swimwear line is now coveted the world over for its self-described flirty yet functional suits. "We don't follow the trends, says Lisa. Instead we follow our own path -- often times finding that we have unexpectedly set the trend. The challenge for us is to keep things unique. Design is an ongoing process, like the constant flow of the ocean."
