STEAM, which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math, is more than just the subjects it names; it means young learners will get actual hands-on experience in what they will eventually encounter in college and the workforce.

The expo is set for 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6.

Among those already signed up to participate or sponsor the expo are: Aufgang Architects, Cub Scout Pack 23, Teachers-to-Tutors, Artytime, Town of Ramapo Challenge Center, Little Ivy Academy, Coderkidz2, the Nature Place Day Camp, Hubble Telescope engineer Joe Blondin, and Mad Science of Hudson Valley.

There will be a districtwide art show, a robotics demonstration, sculpture-making with recyclables, coding workshops,  a hydroponic garden, and much more, organizers say.

To register, go to www.ReachFoundation.org.

To volunteer or be a sponsor, call Deana Goldstein or Jessica Swerdloff, STEAM Expo co-chairs, at (845) 664-2994, or email them at [email protected].

The high school is located at 49 Viola Road, Suffern.
