Subway unveiled its Fresh Value Menu on Tuesday, April 28. The sandwich chain is promoting 15 entrées priced under $5, including daily specials and some new options.
The value menu aims to attract customers as more families tighten their budgets.
"Subway's Fresh Value Menu proves you don't have to choose between eating well and saving money," said Dave Skena, Subway's North American chief marketing officer. "Your wallet and stomach deserve freshly baked bread, real protein, and the perfect combination of sauces and hand-chopped veggies – all for under $5."
The menu includes Deli Faves, a lineup of four six-inch sandwiches priced at $3.99. New options include the Spicy Pepperoni and Ham & Salami, along with classic choices like the BLT and the Cold Cut Combo.
Subway is also featuring its Protein Pockets, a grab-and-go option with more than 20 grams of protein. The $3.99 wraps include Baja Chicken, Peppercorn Ranch Chicken, Italian Trio, and Turkey Ham.
The menu also includes a Sub of the Day deal, offering a different six-inch sandwich each day for $4.99. Options range from Meatball Marinara on Mondays to Spicy Italian on Sundays, and customers can add chips and a drink for an additional $2.
Subway's move comes as several major restaurant chains roll out similar discount menus.
Earlier in April, McDonald's introduced an Under $3 Menu and expanded its McValue offerings with discounted breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. In late February, Panera Bread also debuted a value menu for the first time, with its $4.99 Mix & Match Menu featuring soups, salads, and sandwiches.
Based in Shelton, Connecticut, Subway has more than 35,000 locations worldwide, including about 20,000 in the US.
