In addition, S4 will offer two additional single-session workshops: Midterm Exam Preparation for high school students and Test and Long-Term Project Preparation for middle school students The workshops foster academic achievement by teaching students key study strategies that help them learn while reducing stress.
Upcoming midterm exams can be a particular source of stress for high school students. Research shows that ample advanced and structured preparation can decrease a student’s concerns over exam and improve their results. To that end, S4 will be teaching high school students a structured approach to organizing their studies to prepare for midterms, which will be held at area high schools in the last few weeks in January.
In the Test and Long-Term Project Preparation workshop, middle school students will learn time management and organization skills to approach any test, quiz, project, or research paper with confidence.
S4 will also offer its 7.5-hour flagship study skills workshop at the Chappaqua Learning Center over five Mondays, beginning Nov. 18.
Space in all workshops is limited to 11 students to allow for focused, individualized attention to be given to each participant.
The S4 program is founded on educational research and evidence-based studies. Its interactive approach demonstrates clearly how to apply students’ own curriculum to the study strategies they learn. S4’s workshops are continually refreshed and updated to stay relevant to students’ academic experiences.
The 7.5-hour, five-session study-skills workshop costs $395, while the single-session, three-hour test preparation workshops cost $295. All workshop fees include dinner and all materials.
