Students Start First Day At Rye Schools

RYE, N.Y. -- Allison Chader's daughter Karenna started kindergarten at Osborn School on Wednesday and when her mother waved goodbye, she didn't shed a tear.

"I had fun today." said Karenna, 5.

Rye schools opened their doors from Kindergarten to High School Wednesday, and for Karenna it was the start of a new experience. Karenna enjoyed making new friends in the classroom, snacking on pretzels and most of all she had fun in her first physical education class. "We went to the gym. We did a lot of running," she said, so perhaps she may be a future track star. Her mother said that Karenna wasn't scared at all of starting kindergarten because she was excited to start going to school with her two older brothers in second and fifth grade. "We're veterans here," said Chader. Do you have a child who just started Kindergarten? Please share your child's first day of school story.
