Stephen Visaggio, 89, Hackensack Resident

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Stephen Visaggio, of Hackensack and formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, died Sunday, Feb. 28. He was 89.

Born in Molfetta, Bari, Italy, to the late Mauro and Stephanina Visaggio, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Before retiring, he was a machinist for Uniroyal in Passaic.

He was the husband of the late Lucille J. Visaggio (Fasino); father of Stephanie Goldberg of Fort Lee and her late husband, Victor, and Lillian Romano and her husband, Patrick, of Hasbrouck Heights; brother of Paul Visaggio of Ridgefield Park, Frances Angione of Hasbrouck Heights, Vito Visaggio of Gaithersburg, Md., Jacqueline Calandra of New City, N.Y. and the late Corrado and Joseph Visaggio; grandfather of Major Albert Goldberg and his wife, Kendra, Jessica Goldberg, Juliana Romano and Marissa Romano; and great-grandfather of Lucille Goldberg.

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. A funeral will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at Costa Memorial Home followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Hasbrouck Heights. Entombment will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum, Lodi.
