Staples saw its 14-game winning streak snapped by Trinity Catholic, 8-5, in its regular-season finale Friday. Staples (18-2 overall, 16-2 FCIAC) will still enter the FCIAC tournament as the leagues No. 1 seed as it looks to become the first team in league history to win three straight league titles.
Jack Hennessy went 3-for-3 and Danny Carbone ripped two hits, including a double, for Staples. The Wreckers host No. 8 Westhill in the first round of the playoffs Monday at 4 p.m.
