Staples erupted for 13 runs over the first two innings in Saturday's 15-1 over Norwich Free Academy. The Wreckers improved to 8-1 overall and are 6-1 in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Jack Hennessy led the hit parade in Saturday's win with three hits and four RBIs.
Grant Moss contributed three hits and three RBIs, while Mike McGowan ripped two hits and scored three runs. Ryan Burke belted a home run to back winning pitcher Rob Gau. He got relief help from Mitch Gilbertie, Eric Sawyer and Austin Mills. Staples visits New Canaan tomorrow and also plays Harding and Darien this week.
