Staples High School's girls 4 x 800 team set a school record with a sixth place finish at the Hartford Public Invitational on Saturday. The quartet of Kylie Gould, Kristin Weiler, Georgia Kursten and Emily Hanrahan ran 9:44:97 and finished sixth.
Paul Chandler won the pole vault with a leap of 14 feet, and Joselyn Henry took third in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, five inches. The boys 4 x 400 relay finished third.
