Stamford's King School Gives Tours

They’re cute, but no, these teddy bears won’t be around this week during small-group tours at Stamford’s King Low Heywood Thomas School. The tours are for anyone who’d like to learn more about independent pre-K through 12 school’s offerings and its admissions process. Tours begin Monday (Jan. 10) for the Upper School (grades 9 through 12) and continue through Thursday with other grades. Call the school at (203) 322-3496, ext. 350, to reserve a space. As for the teddy bears, they’re some of the items collected at the varsity hockey team’s “Teddy Bear Toss” last month during a game with St. Luke’s. Players invited sports fans to bring teddy bears to the game and, when the first goal was scored, toss them on the ice. More than 100 bears were tossed and collected. They were donated to Darien-based social agency Person-to-Person for distribution to youngsters in Stamford and surrounding areas.
