Stamford's Joseph Makes NFL Debut

Alex Joseph made it to the NFL on Sunday. The former Stamford High star played on a special teams tackle for the San Francisco 49ers in a 38-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Joseph, who played for Temple University, signed with San Francisco last week. He had been on the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers. The linebacker was signed as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers and played in all four preseason games. His best one was last, when he had five tackles against Kansas City. After being cut at the end of training camp, he was on the practice squad for the Oakland Raiders. After they released him in October, he joined the Panthers.

"Great win today.. Got my two tackles in.. Very grateful for my opportunity," Joseph wrote on his Twitter profile. He was listed as making one tackle on two reports, and no tackles on another.
