Stamford Struts Its Stuff for Columbus

Stamford paraded its rich cultural mix Sunday in honor of Columbus. City resident Michael Fedele, the state's lieutenant governor – which makes him the highest-ranking Italian-American in Connecticut – was grand marshal. The parade also featured folk dancers, bagpipers and others reflecting Stamford's diversity. The procession began at Mill River and Broad streets, turned onto Atlantic Street, entered Main Street and culminated at Columbus Park. There, the festivities continued well into the afternoon.
