STAMFORD, Conn. Everyone likes celebrating the holidays with friends and family, and the employees of Stamfords Solid Waste Department will be taking some time off as well.
The recycling centers and transfer station will close at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, and not reopen until Tuesday, Dec. 27. Regular recycling and garbage pickup will occur Monday, Dec. 26.
Garbage and recycling pickup will also occur Monday, Jan. 2, even though the transfer station and recycling centers will be closed that day. The recycling centers and transfer station are normally closed Sundays.
