Stamford will play Maine at 8 p.m. Thursday and Bobby Valentine will attend opening ceremonies and throw out the first pitch at 5 p.m. for the Babe Ruth New England Regional baseball tournament at Cubeta Stadium.
The six-team tournament features two teams from Connecticut, two from Massachusetts, and one each from Maine and New Hampshire. The opening game will pit Eastern Massachusetts against New Hampshire on Thursday at 5 p.m. The winner meets Western Massachusetts on Friday at 5 p.m. The Stamford-Maine winner plays Naugatuck of Connecticut on Friday at 8 p.m.
