STAMFORD, Conn. -- Professional and family celebrations are in order for long-time Springdale resident Angelo Natalie. The Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich recently honored him for 20 years of music ministry. I was brought on board as a congregational worship leader to introduce contemporary praise music, he recalled. During his tenure, he switched out the traditional music to go with the exuberant Tidewater Praise Band and replaced the choir with a big-screen projection featuring the hymnal, allowing for hands-free singing. Our mission remains the same: to facilitate God-focused, Christ-centered, Spirit-led worship. Were singing our prayers prayers of thanksgiving, adoration and praise. In that sense, the band is the pit orchestra accompanying the congregation as we all perform together for an audience of One, he continued.
The other August event that Angelo, his wife Kathy Natalie, and family are celebrating is the first birthday of their youngest grandson, Patrick Mulhern, son of Julie and Ernie Mulhern of Stamford. Patrick was a perfect 10 when he was born at Stamford Hospital last Aug. 10, weighing in a 10 pounds, 4 ounces.
A love story is the latest production for Peter Barbieri Jr., Curtain Calls associate artistic director, and his lovely fiancée, Julia Symmes Robertson, who works for an investment firm in Westport. The couple met at Curtain Call, Stamford's only year-round, producing theatrical organization, and plan a December 2011 wedding in Darien.
Dom Yorfino promises that The Players Club at the Sterling Farms Golf Club will be rockin' this Saturday night when his band, Undercover, performs.
