Stamford Neighbors Notes

There have been two recent sightings in Stamford of Wrigley, the 9-year-old spaniel lost since December. Owner Sue Benjamin said the dog was spotted on July 5 near Rockrimmon and Old Long Ridge Road. Later in the day, he was seen crossing Russet Road, off High Ridge Road.

The Bedford, N.Y. dog, who is a skilled hunter, appears to be finding food and shelter as he roams the New York-Connecticut border. If you spot the energetic but unkempt canine, his family requests that you contact them as soon as possible at 914-234-9534.

Taking a delayed honeymoon to Alaska with bride Anja Santiago is Stamford Public Schools newly appointed curriculum associate for elementary math, Brian Byrne. The couple will explore the 49th state while enjoying rafting, sightseeing and the natural beauty of the glaciers and sea life.

For over three years, local band Roxbury Grove has been entertaining audiences with a buoyant brand of pop rock. Gabriel Matarasso, a student at SUNY Purchase, is the lead singer and songwriter. His brother, Zach Matarasso, who studies sound engineering at Carnegie Mellon, plays the drums. Syracuse University student Lisa Lombardi (bassist and vocalist) and recent Suffolk University graduate John Ott round out the group.

Last year the band began a tradition of performing outside the Sundance Cafe immediately after Alive @ Five. Billed as “the Official Alive @ Five after party,” the tradition continues and you will again find Roxbury Grove at the Landmark building location every Thursday night.

Cathy and Ed Granelli are celebrating that their son, David Granelli, a 2008 Westhill graduate, has made the dean's list at Northeastern University for the fifth time in a row. The finance and marketing major recently completed a semester abroad in Italy at John Cabot University.

He is now doing a cooperative work experience at the Bank of New York Mellon in Boston. David, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, previously completed a co-op placement at Boston’s State Street Bank.
