Talented local musician Robbie Jenkins is excited that he will be opening for innovative rhythm and blues band Earth, Wind & Fire and Grammy-winning singer india.arie at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on Aug. 19. The event is a fundraiser for DCEmpowering Children, a Boston-based organization for victims and survivors of sexual abuse. Jenkins, a singer and music producer, has released an album, "Because It Feels Right," which launched several singles and a remix EP titled "BIFR: The Remix." His music has been featured on Billboard.com and on a Mix CD with Chris Brown and Alicia Keys. It has also received radio airplay both nationally and internationally. A large crowd of well-wishers representing a broad and diverse spectrum of the Stamford community joined to honor Ele and Mort Lowenthal for their myriad contributions. The couple, who received the Jewish Historical Society Heritage Award, have long been instrumental in making a difference in the arts, education and community development.
