STAMFORD, Conn. Ivan Silva, one of the suspects arrested in the murder of James Decrescenzo at Uncle Bucks Laundromat on Stamfords West Side, has now been charged with sexual assault after his 15-year-old girlfriend admitted to being pregnant with his baby, according to Stamford Police.
The girlfriend told police she was pregnant with his baby while they were investigating the murder, a press release from the police department said. Police then had to obtain a warrant before charging Silva, 19, with felony second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, police said.
A $10,000 bond was levied for the new charges, police said.
Silva was charged with murder, first-degree robbery, and conspiracy on July 31 for his alleged part in the June 26 homicide of Decrescenzo. Police said he admitted to officers that he and Elmer Saenz-Machado, who was also arrested in the murder, committed the crime to impress the MS-13 gang in the city.
