Stamford Man Caught With Fireworks

STAMFORD, Conn. — There won't be any fireworks in Stamford this year — just ask Eric Ross Telesco, who was issued a misdemeanor summons Monday night for shooting off illegal fireworks.

Stamford police say several callers complained that someone was shooting off fireworks on Oaklawn Avenue. Officers parked at Lord & Taylor and from the parking lot were able to see fireworks.

The officers found Telesco preparing to shoot off another firework when they stopped him and issued the summons. The fireworks were also seized, police say.

Telesco, 24, of 383 Oaklawn Ave., Stamford, was charged with illegal possession of exploding fireworks. He has a July 11 court date.

Also in the police blotter:

• Carlos Pocheco, 36, of 133 Soundview Ave., Stamford, was arrested Monday on charges of improper rear lights and illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

• Kabir Mohammed, 51, of 45 Woodmere Road, Stamford, was arrested June 27 and charged with second-degree breach of peace.
