Stamford Hoists Irish Flag for St. Patrick

Even the sun was Irish on Thursday. The proof was in the bright sky that served as a perfect setting for Thursday morning’s Irish flag hoisting outside the Government Center in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  Dan McCabe and Josephine Minogue did the honors. They’re the men’s and ladies' division honorees, respectively, of Stamford’s Chapter 59 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of America.

Minogue, a Darien resident, and McCabe, of Stamford, are proud of their Irish heritage and were delighted to “celebrate this wonderful honor,” as Minogue said during a ceremony inside the Government Center.

Master of Ceremonies Andy O’Connor, vice president of the order’s men’s division, invited anyone who wishes to stop by the chapter, located at 186 Greyrock Place, on Thursday to take part in the daylong celebration.
