Stamford Can Expect a Wet Weekend

STAMFORD, Conn. – Don’t put the umbrella away yet--Stamford is expected to remain moist through most of the weekend, the National Weather Service says.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to kick things off, with a more than 60 percent chance of precipitation Friday night, according to the forecast. The Weather Service says the overnight rainfall will be slightly less than half an inch.

But because of the rain, the National Weather Service has a flash flood warning in effect through 1 a.m. Saturday.

The sun may make an appearance Saturday, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s. There is no guarantee, though, with the forecast putting the chance of rain and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. on Saturday at 30 percent.

The weekend will end on a high note, with sunny skies and warm weather Sunday, at least according to the weatherman.
