From where Don Prizio was sitting Monday morning, Old Man Winter is sending a message that hes not ready to leave New Canaan just yet.
I guess winters just doesnt want to end, said Prizio, 48, as he watched the snow fall in New Canaan, a day after spring officially arrived.
Prizio said he didnt see much snow as he came to New Canaan on Monday morning to drive a New Canaan school bus. He also didnt expect too many problems bringing them back home in the afternoon. Monday mornings snowfall eventually became light rain just before noon, which may make things a little easier for all drivers.
Forecasts are calling for rain and high temperatures to reach into the 50s on Monday. Skies will clear up on Tuesday, but snow and rain are in the cards for Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures hovering in the mid 40s.
Prizio said he wouldnt be surprised to see a little more snow before the middle of April, though hes hoping theres no more white stuff by the time May rolls around. Its New England and Ive told people that in New England, anything can happen, he said.
