SoNo Art Show Opens Saturday

NORWALK, Conn. – A new art show opens Saturday in SoNo, featuring Norwalk artists who work in textiles, jewelry, photography, sculpture and paintings. Several artists will also be working on site.

The show is presented by Norwalk 2.0 and TR SONO Partners at The mARTket, located at 136 Washington St., in the former Sweet Rexies location. The artists have studios, work in Norwalk or live in Norwalk and many have participated in public arts projects and local exhibits throughout the year. Artists Jahmane and Duvian Montoya have organized the show in the pop-up style. Recently Jahmane Montaya held a screen printing workshop for the Carver Summer Camp.

There is an opening reception at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Artists include Liz Squillace, Lauren Rosito, Elisa Keogh, Carrie Brady, Carla Wales, Derek Uhlman, Steve Hunter, Daniel Sharkey, Jackie Lightfield, Dana Laird, Patricia Eljaiek, Francine Funke, Tony Mobilia, Susan Leggitt, Loren DePalma, Dionne Pia, Steve Wallerstein, Duvian Montoya, Jahmane Montaya, A. Nailah, and Ammon Archie.

Tom Rich, managing partner of T.R. SoNo Partners, an FD Rich Company affiliate, has donated the space to support emerging artists and incubate local produced talent. TR SONO Partners has donated space and supported programs throughout the county.
