SOMERS, N.Y. - There is no need to travel far to ring in the New Year in a joyful setting. Here are a few local suggestions:
This highly popular and pleasantly authentic Italian restaurant is offering two choices on New Years Eve. The menu for the first seating, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., will be the restaurants customary assortment of antipasti, salads, pasta, fish, meat and desserts, all a la carte. A kids menu and gluten free dishes are available on request.
The second seating, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m,. is prix fixe at $60 and includes four courses (choice of appetizer, salad or pasta, choice of beef, chicken or salmon and choice of dessert). In addition, guests will be treated to champagne, celebration horns and dancing to deejay music.
Granite Springs own special eatery is serving New Years Eve dinner in two seatings. The first, at 5:30 p.m., will feature the usual al a carte menu, with its wide assortment of original appetizers, handsome salads, pasta, meat and fish entrees.
The 8:30 p.m. seating includes: a full cocktail hour with passed hors doeuvres and gourmet stations, followed by a four-course meal featuring choices of lobster tails, filet mignon, roast duck and more. In addition, there will be a full bar, open for five hours. And -- all gratuities are included. The price is $135 per person, plus tax. Call for a reservation. It is limited to 100 people.
Right in the heart of town at the Somerstown Center, Somersfields will serve its regular menu from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring assorted appetizers and entrees with a generous selection of lighter dishes. At 9 p.m. a deejay rolls in and the party begins, with dancing and special treats.
Croton Creek Steakhouse & Wine Bar
Just celebrating its Fifth Anniversary as Croton Falls prime steakhouse, Croton Creek will offer its usual a la carte menu, featuring beef specialties, a wide range of appetizers, generous vegetable side dishes and tempting seafood entrees. The kitchen will take the last order at 10 p.m. but the restaurant will remain open past midnight.
