As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, New York State Electric & Gas reported that 304 of its 9,088 customers were still without power. If you notice that your neighbors have power and you do not, notify NYSEG that you have been overlooked.
An official state of emergency continues in Somers. The Heritage Hills Activity Center is open to all residents. No food is available, so you are advised to bring your own. If you go, check in at the Heritage Hills security office.
Dry ice continues to be available all day at the Somers police station in Van Tassell Park on Route 139.
Murphy advises residents not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Do not touch downed wires, do not operate generators indoors, and do not operate barbecue grills indoors.
Wednesday evening’s session of the Somers Town Court has been canceled.
The Somers Public Library closed at 3 p.m., and all library activities for the day were canceled.
All after-school and evening activities are canceled for the Somers Central School District except at Somers High School, which will end its activities at 4 p.m.
