'SNL' Shocker: Bowen Yang Leaving Show

Bowen Yang, one of "Saturday Night Live's" most popular cast member is departing the show, according to numerous reports.

Yang's last episode will be on Saturday, Dec. 20, with host Ariana Grande, his "Wicked" co-star, and musical guest Cher.

Yang joined the show as a writer in 2018 before being becoming a featured player in the show's 45th season in 2019. Hist most popular bits include playing the iceberg who struck the Titanic, baby hippo Moo Deng, and a skit where he became friends with Travis Kelce. He also impersonated Vice President JD Vance and former Rep. George Santos.

Outside of "SNL," Yang hosts the popular Las Culturistas podcast and has starred in "Wicked," "Fire Island" and "The Wedding Banquet."

Yang is part of a larger SNL exodus that has occurred since the end of season 50, with Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emil Wakim all departing.
