CLIFTON, N.J. -- Clifton native Shirley Close passed away on Nov. 3 in Orlando, Fla. She was 84.
Close lived in Bergen County for 30 years and Toms River for another 19 before moving to Stuart, Fla. in 2008. She was a graduate of Clifton High School and Kings County Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Close was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Alan Close; her parents William & Gertrude VanKirk; two brothers, John and Harry and sister Erica DeGhetto.
She is Survived by her daughter Erica Salle and her husband Louis of Ringwood; son Kenneth Close and his wife Soraia of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren Devan and Brett Salle; and Julia and Talon Close.
Cremation and private burial in Paramus N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation to a favorite charity be made in her name.
