With the school year ending soon, its time to find some summer entertainment for the young ones. The Summer Theatre of New Canaan is starting its run of Seussical The Musical at its tented outdoor theater at Waveny Park Saturday, June 19.
Seussical takes many of Dr. Seuss beloved characters and weaves them together for a fun family play. Horton, the Cat in the Hat and many others are all featured. Members of the Chicago Filament Theaters ensemble have come to New Canaan for the summer to perform.
Dr. Seuss may be the best fantastical storyteller ever, said Reggie Gowland, who plays Cat in the Hat. Seussical captures some of his most colorful and zany characters. The show will have audiences dancing and singing along with us.
Performances start Friday and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m., with 11 a.m. shows on Sundays. Opening day is Saturday, June 19, and the play runs until July 18. Admission is $12.50for children and $15 for adults. For tickets and more information, visit the Summer Theatres website or call the box office at (203) 966-4634.
