The incident involved an overturned vehicle and occurred in the southbound lanes of the inner roadway, south of the Molly Pitcher Service Area in Cranbury Township, according to the NJDOT site.
Preliminary and unconfirmed reports say at least one person may have been killed. Daily Voice has reached out to New Jersey State Police for details.
