Second Suspect Charged In Stamford Robbery, Assault

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford police arrested a homeless man suspected of being involved in a robbery and assault that took place in early August, Capt. Ricahrd Conklin said.

Jeffrey Rowell, 51, was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and conspiracy, police said. Police previously arrested John Mock on the same charges Aug. 23.

Investigators believe Rowell and Mock went to an apartment on Fourth Street and forced a victim to pay off a debt to them, and even after the victim took out money they beat him up, police said previously. Police believe Mock used a metal pipe in the incident.
