RYE, N.Y. -- Morgan Beechum and Latisha Clark led a furious second half charge, sending Peekskill to a 52-47 victory over White Plains in a first-round game of the 19th annual Rye Rotary Holiday Basketball Classic Friday.Peekskill will face New Rochelle, which beat Rye, 44-43, in the final, Saturday, at 4 p.m. This game will be preceded by the consolation matchup, at 2 p.m., with Rye playing White Plains.White Plains led 30-14 at halftime, before Beechum and Clark led the rally. Beechum scored 12 of her team-leading 19 points in the third quarter and Clark had eight of her 13 in the fourth quarter.The score was even at 44-44 with 1:22 remaining when Beechum gave Peekskill the lead for good, taking a pass from Troi Nolan and going in for a layup. Nolan, Clark and Asia Jackson (14 points) all converted both ends of a one-and-one situation in the final minute to stave off White Plains.Sofia Roman, who led White Plains with 19 points, swished a three-pointer with 43 seconds remaining, bringing the Tigers within one -- 48-47.
