Medals will be awarded to the top three runners in each age category. The event also includes a DJ, snacks, "swag bags" and a kids fun run, for 5- to 12-year-olds.
The 5K entry fee is $25 until Sunday, April 17, and the fun run is $10 per child. It's a rain-or-shine event. Register online here. Race t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 paid registrants.
If running isn't your thing, you can also support the event either by donating directly, here, volunteering or pledging donations to those who are running. Search for participating runners here.
The Educational Foundation has a $10,000 goal for the event.
Registration and packet pickup is at 8 a.m., the 5K will begin at 9 and the fun run will start at 10:15 a.m.
A variety of sponsorship levels are also available -- from bronze sponsorships for $50, which gets your name on the back of the t-shirts, to platinum sponsorships for $1,000, which gets your name on the front of the shirts, the ability to place promotional items in goody bags and more.
