RYE, N.Y. - Ellen McEnery died at her home in Rye on Jan. 14. She was 89.
Born Ellen O'Sullivan Beara on April 1, 1922, she was a native of Limerick, Ireland. She married the late Michael McEnery and lived in Rye for over 30 years, where she was said to retain her beloved accent and sense of humor. McEnery enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by seven children in the U.S., England, Australia and Ireland, 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at Church of the Resurrection in Rye. Her remains will be buried alongside her husband in Ireland. Funeral arrangements were made by Graham Funeral Home in Rye.
