The incident at Little Rascals Farm Stand in Egg Harbor Township happened on Wednesday, Nov. 25, when the cows arrived at the property on Asbury Road, the farm said.

Maggie, a white cow, went straight through an electric fence and then Darla, a brown cow, followed, Little Rascals Farm Stand said on Facebook. Both animals disappeared into the surrounding area.

A neighbor named Brian assisted with his drone, as the search for the cows continued.

On Thanksgiving, the drone was able to detect two thermal signatures and there was evidence the cows were nearby. The farm left out hay and feed in the hopes it would Maggie and Darla out, or at least get them something to eat. The cows were stuck in a wooded area between two sections of the Ballmor Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, the farm said.

Darla "may not make it much longer," the farm wrote on Thursday, "She wasn’t looking so great yesterday.”

By Friday morning, a trail camera showed the cows coming out of the golf course the same way they went in. Searchers and local residents were asked to keep watch near Pine Avenue and Asbury Road.

On Friday afternoon, the chase ended and the farm got the happy ending they were looking for.

“The girls are safe and back from their round of golf!” the farm announced. “A huge, thanks to the community for getting the word out and trying to keep eyes on them. A massive thank you to our neighbors who worked relentlessly to help find and capture. Bill, Ron and Colby are true masters in what they do.”

The cows are beginning to settle into their new homes, the farm said.

According to its website, Little Rascals is a boutique farm specializing in coturnix quail, chicken and baked goods. Its mission is to provide fresh, ethically raised birds, eggs and delicious baked goods.
