Drivers may have noticed the preparation work already in progress at the site. As of March 30 the road will be closed and the official detour will be from Route 52 at Route 82 in Fishkill down to Palen Road or County Route 31 to Route 82 in Hopewell Junction or the reverse. This construction project is expected to last until next October.
Local roads and neighborhoods should not be used as an alternate route and will be marked for local traffic only. These streets will be patrolled and some may be ticketed for violations. Use local highways if seeking alternatives.
