Robin McClain McNamara, 51, of Doylestown, was sentenced in Bucks County Court to 364 days to 728 days in the Bucks County Correctional Facility, followed by three years of probation, Judge Charissa J. Liller ordered on Wednesday, April 16.

The sentence follows McNamara’s conviction in a waiver trial on Monday, April 7, where she was found guilty of aggravated assault and several related offenses, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Court records show McNamara was found "not guilty" of attempted homicide and a higher felony aggravated assault charge, but convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with additional counts including simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, and harassment.

The charges stem from a July 12, 2025, incident at an apartment near South Main and State streets in Doylestown.

Police responding to an abandoned 911 call around 8:52 p.m. found McNamara outside the building wearing blood-soaked clothing. She told officers the blood belonged to the victim and said she believed she had broken the victim’s nose, investigators previously said.

Inside the apartment, officers discovered the victim suffering severe head trauma, including a deep laceration that reached the skull, along with additional wounds to the body. A cleaver-style knife used in the attack was recovered at the scene, authorities said.

As part of her sentence, McNamara must undergo a mental health evaluation, complete decision-making programs, and have no contact with the victim, prosecutors said.

“I want to commend Deputy District Attorney Carrie Worton for her exceptional work in navigating this incredibly difficult and sensitive case,” Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Her work on this case ensured that the defendant was held accountable for this dangerous attack while securing the mental health mandates necessary to protect the public moving forward.”
