YONKERS, N.Y. Robert "Bob" W. Nolte, a Yonkers native, died Aug. 7 at his home in New Fairfield, Conn., surrounded by family. He was 69.
Nolte was born July 14, 1943, in Yonkers to John H. and Elizabeth Lang Nolte. He attended Sacred Heart School until the tenth-grade when his family moved to Brewster, N.Y. Early in his life, Nolte was an accomplished accordionist, performing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and throughout the New York area.
He was married to Joan H. Nelson Nolte.
He was employed in various capacities by Stop and Shop supermarkets in both Connecticut and New York for more than 50 years. Most recently, Nolte worked at the New Fairfield store. He enjoyed sharing special times with his family, sports and fishing.
Nolte is survived by his wife; a son, Robert J. (Anne) Nolte, of Oxford, Conn.; and daughter, Michelle Lynn (Joseph) DeLuca, of Sandy Hook, Conn.
There will be memorial gathering from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Green Funeral Home in Danbury. A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
