DANBURY, Conn. Robert F. Melvin of Danbury died Monday, Sept. 3, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Ga., after a brief illness. He was 76.
Born Sept. 15, 1935, in Danbury, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Donnelly Melvin. He attended St. Peter School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1953. Melvin served in the Army and was a member of Danbury Elks Lodge 120 and the American Legion Post 60.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Varsallo Melvin; and several cousins.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Green Funeral Home in Danbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
