He was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Bronx, N.Y., to Gus and Winifred Weinert. He retired from the Fire Department of New York after 28 years. He moved to Hampstead, N.C., in 1993.
Weinert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Stratton Weinert; two sons, Robert K. (Laura) Weinert, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and William (Becky) Weinert, of Schenevus, N.Y.; a daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Martin, of Cary, N.C.; and six grandsons. He predeceased by a brother, Richard (Anne); and a sister, Dorothy Ciavarello.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
