Roads Begin Flooding in Stamford

The large accumulation of snow, coupled with ice, rain and melting, is causing problems for motorists all over Stamford on Wednesday.

"I've never seen a puddle like this in front of my house," North Stamford resident Larry Greene said as he gazed at a 75-foot puddle in front of his driveway on Long Ridge Road. "We've decided to call it Lake Long Ridge."

This large puddle is located on a straight stretch of Long Ridge so drivers usually have good speed as they approach the water, which causes dangerous braking and big splashes. Drainage in this area is spotty because of the rural nature on North Stamford.
