Hackensack police received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 12:48 p.m. reporting a bomb threat at the restaurant inside Riverside Square Mall, Hackensack Police Capt. Gregory Zisa said.
The Cheesecake Factory and surrounding businesses were evacuated as a precaution. The Bergen County K9 Unit and Bomb Squad responded to the scene and conducted a sweep of the area. No devices were found and all businesses were cleared without incident, Zisa said.
There is no threat to the public and all businesses have returned to normal operations, according to police.
Police thanked the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for its response and assistance, officials said.
“Although no threat was found, the Hackensack Police Department takes all threats seriously and remains ready to protect all residents and visitors of the City of Hackensack,” Zisa said.
