Riverfield Earns Fairfield's 1st $500 Prize

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Families at Fairfield’s Riverfield School have reason to celebrate. The school passed 500 votes Friday in Main Street Connect’s Better Schools Bonanza contest. That makes the Roadrunners the first school in Fairfield to win a $500 prize for its  PTA.

Riverfield passed the mark early Friday afternoon, putting it sixth in Fairfield County, behind three Norwalk schools and two from Stamford. But with four weeks left in the voting, Riverfield still has time to catch up and win the $10,000 grand prize.

After Riverfield, McKinley School is holding strong in second place, with less than 50 votes to go before it also wins the $500 award. Osborn Hill has also picked up steam over the last week, and now has more than 200 votes. The contest ends Oct. 28, so all of Fairfield’s elementary schools still have a good chance of winning. Stop by the voting page each day to help your favorite school!
